Paul has pastoral responsibility for Dudley Wood, Overend and Providence Churches. His leadership style is a collaborative one, which means that every member of the team is encouraged to contribute through bringing ideas and discussing them. Decisions are made and owned by the team.

Paul is also involved in Connexional bodies as a member of the Methodist Council and the Racial Justice Committee. He has just completed his five years as a member of the World Methodist Executive Council.

Paul's personal interests include reading and gardening.

 

Rev Robert A Readshaw

I'm Robert. I was born in Wisbech in Cambridgeshire and I have been a Circuit Minister in the Methodist Church since 1976.

My first Circuit was in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, and when I moved to the Sale Circuit on the outskirts of Manchester I married Sue, who was from Birmingham. My first experience of team ministry was in the Loughborough Circuit in Leicestershire and then I moved to the Birstall and Spen Circuit on the outskirts of Bradford, in West Yorkshire. I came to the Stour Valley Circuit in September 2005 from the Telford Circuit in Shropshire. There I was part of the team ministry in the Central Telford Ecumenical Partnership, which was Methodists and Anglicans working together. From my experience there, I was appointed an Ecumenical Officer for the Black Country Churches Engaged, by the Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury District Synod.

I enjoy working with others in the service of the Lord. I have seen that churches working together can do things together they cannot do alone. I hope to encourage this as, I explore the resources and traditions of the United Reformed Church as The United Church at Lye is a Methodist/URC Local Ecumenical Partnership. I look forward to growing in Christ alongside those I share ministry with in the Stour Valley Circuit and in the wider church.

 

Emma Alston [Circuit Administrator]

Working, three mornings each week, Emma runs the Circuit office based at Lawrence Lane Methodist Church.

Her areas of responsibility include keeping the churches informed of what is happening throughout the Circuit, and beyond, collecting information for the preaching plan and dealing with all kinds of enquiries.

Emma is the backbone of the Circuit's administration.

 

 

 

 

 

Christine Perry [Pastoral Visitor]

Christine works on a voluntary basis as the Circuit's pastoral visitor. Christine supports the minister's pastoral duties by visiting the sick, the bereaved and housebound members of our churches.
